How do I use my own formats for <ul>

I would like to use my own UL format, but every time I try to reformat my ul in html view (just using inline style="blah") WYMEditor corrects my hard-coded html and foists its own UL formatting on me. In particular, I want bigger bullets and bigger list indents. How do I do this?
