Could you help me track down the conflict?

Postby rostr on Thu Jul 12, 2007 8:43 pm

Some of my users on IE7 have been having trouble using the editor. It appears that the editor does not completely load (it's missing the text area).

I can confirm that this only happens on IE7 (not IE6 or FF2), and it only happens when wrapped in my cms architecture.

I wondered if anyone could help me pinpoint the problem.

Here is a link with the error:

http://www.secureourfuture.org/membersh ... error.html

And here is a link with all of my cms architecture ripped out (works here)

http://www.secureourfuture.org/membersh ... strip.html

Also, can anyone tell me how you debug javascript on IE7?

Thanks!

Ok, well I did some digging this weekend, and it looks like this style was what was screwing it up:

#horizontalForm label
{
/*float: left;*/ /*THIS WAS REMOVED BECAUSE IT CONFLICTS WITH WYSIWYM EDITOR*/
display: block;
margin: 1em 1em 0 0;
font-weight: bold;
}

All of my forms are declared as:

<FORM METHOD=post id="horizontalForm" ...

Not sure exactly why this caused a problem or whether its worth changing wymeditor at all. Anyway, fyi.
