WYMeditor with AJAX

Postby MarcS on Tue Jul 24, 2007 2:56 pm

Hi,

I'm having a problem integrating WMYeditor in my AJAX page.
When I submit the form the post variable is empty.
Do I need to call some function when I submit the form (using onclick on the submit buton) to set the value of the form element first?

thanks for your help

This same thing happened to me last week, though I was using straight-up PHP instead of AJAX. I had changed the class name on my submit button to a custom look class that I made. After some searching through the source I realized that the class has on the submit button is required to be "wymupdate" because thats what the javascript looks for. The submit action is based on finding a button with that class name.

Just a thought...

thanks so much.
That was the issue.
So it had nothing to do with rails.
Seems like I wasted most of my day - but that's what you get for being a bit stupid :)

Glad to hear you got it working! I know it's kind of a simple thing to want to change but if you change it it blows up WYMEditor. I wasted most of my morning yesterday figuring that one out ;)
