Empty table data cells ?

Postby troyr on Tue Apr 01, 2008 4:51 am

Trying to get tables working properly. If i create a table and leave a few cells with no data the xhtml cleaner removes those cells from the table. If you add a border to the table then the user realises this is not really what they want. A bigger problem is that when you go back to edit the table (if its saved via a script and pushed to a db) there is no way to put the cells back in via the wysiwym. You have to enter them back in via source.

The only quick workaround i could think of at present is to comment out
Code: Select all
line 1870 - xhtml_parser.js
xhtml = this.removeEmptyTags(xhtml);

But i would prefer not to hack into the source. Does anyone have any suggestions

You are right, an empty cell is an empty tag to Wymeditor and is therefore removed. I don't know for sure but doesn't Mozilla still omit empty table cells? So to display correctly there would have to be at least a   in there?
