WYMeditor strips out "0"

Postby lareclark on Mon Oct 12, 2009 11:29 pm

We use WYMeditor on a custom CMS admin. When I entered a single 0 (with strong tags around it) on a line, followed by a <br />, WYMeditor stripped the 0 and the strong tags. I tried with a 0 in p tags, and WYWeditor stripped out the 0 and the p tags. After experimenting, a '0' surrounded by single quotes was not stripped.

Any ideas why this might happen?

Here's the relevant page: http://wsm.wsu.edu/s/index.php?id=727
Bottom of the sidebar. Note the '0' in single quotes.

As a followup, I put a non-breaking space after the 0 and it worked.

Hello!
The cause of this is most likely that the html parser interprets the zero as a boolean which evaluates to false, the same is true for empty elements/strings (they evaluate to false). This isn't normally a problem - not a lot of people write only zeroes, but is still a bug, so I've opened https://trac.wymeditor.org/trac/ticket/190]a ticket for it.

Cheers! ;)
