Custom Toolbar and Plugins

I am wondering what is being done for custom toolbar and buttons?

My goal is to use the editor in an AJAX format. (Load and Save)

I would also like to integrate a file manager and think this should be done in a Plug-In style via a button. (The FCKEditor file requestor doesn't work right, and is hard to customize. That is part of what sent me looking for another solution. When I saw this was jQuery that caught my interest.)

For the file manager, you can use preInitDialog and postInitDialog to modify the dialogs, add controls and event handlers. See http://trac.wymeditor.org/trac/wiki/0.3/Customization

You can also add a button in the tools panel and bind an event handler on it (see the Tidy plugin).
