Dumb questions

Postby rostr on Tue Jun 26, 2007 1:49 am

1. Haven't ever used svn before, so I downloaded tortoisesvn, and pointed it to the repository. It keeps asking me for a un/pw, but I haven't found one anywhere. Any idea what i'm doing wrong?

2. If I try to edit the files on my computer, my editor (Textpad) lets me know there are symbols that it doesn't recognize. After saving, Wymeditor won't run. What encoding scheme are you saving these files in, and any idea why I can't open them on my end?

Thanks,
Jeremy

1. Create a new directory on your computer, right-click on it and choose 'SVN Checkout', then set 'svn://svn.wymeditor.org/wymeditor' as the URL of repository. Choose HEAD revision (for latest revision), and click OK.
TortoiseSVN will download the files.
From time to time, right-click on the directory, and choose 'SVN Update' to update your working copy.

2. We use Unix files, with UTF-8 encoding + BOM.
PsPad (freeware) and jEdit (GPL), among others, will correctly load them.
