integrate popups into main window

i'm thinking about doing this, have the popups show above the editor window instead of opening in a new window... make it a little more friendly.

anyone else out there do this, out of curiousity?

I've been interested in doing this as well paper but haven't had the time. Other options that might be better than popups would be lightbox I reckon, what do u think?

The reason this hasn't been implemented already is because you need the SAPI to not lose the current selection in IE. There is already a feature request for this @ the trac site.

But there is a PoC patch for this. However I'm not sure it's stable, nor that it'll work in IE, haven't personally tested it.

ahh, i see. thanks for the info!

hopefully when this does eventually get implemented it won't be with thickbox, seems out of context with the rest of the program.

thick/lightbox might be less than ideal, but popup windows are terrible. I'll be happy with *box over popup windows but inline show/hide would be good too.
