Hello all,
I was wondering if there were plans in effect to make the actual editor's code XHTML compliant.
IE: http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1 ... editor.htm
Would validate with zero errors against XHTML-strict or XHTML-transitional DTD.
I do not know much about inline HTML editors, so I do not know if this is even possible, but it would be very nice if it were.
Much respect to this project, it is exactly what I am looking for in my CMS in design.

please remember: The most important is, that the written code is valid! And I think, WYMeditor makes that very good.
The control over JavaScript are complicated a little, different Browser must be considered! And do these work correctly after the standards?

i know that getting everything to work across browsers is a very tricky task, as well as making sure that the javascript and XHTML are all compliant with the new very strict standards. i also know that it is possible, i am just wondering if it is a long-term goal of this project. and you are right, producing good code is the most important aspect, but it would be ABSOLUTELY AMAZING if the code that produced the code were perfect as well

Please note, that is a demo! And you must read the error analysis correctly! Most errors are (special) Eventhandler, which you can ignore safely.
It is correct that WYMeditor "iframes" used and in principle not is "XHTML strict", but "XHTML Transitional". In your project you can change that without problems.

WYMeditor 0.3 uses XHTML Transitional for the main container, and XHTML strict for the iframe page.
MSIE's event handlers are now dynamically added by JavaScript.
